Description |
Summary:
This position is responsible for overseeing the
comprehensive development plan including
individual donor appeal, major donor cultivation
and solicitation, corporate sponsorships, and
researching new grant possibilities. The
Associate Director of Development will develop,
implement, manage and coordinate all special
events and fundraising initiatives. This
position reports directly to the Executive
Director and Board of Directors.
Principle Responsibilities:
· Serves as staff liaison to the Events
Committee of the Board of Directors.
. Manages and coordinates the implementation of
the direct mail campaign that includes ordering
of campaign supplies, budgeting, preparing
timeline, and coordinating with the mail house
and the Volunteer Center.
· Coordinates and prepares all print materials
for special events including sponsor benefit and
advertising packages, fact sheets and
solicitation letters.
· Identifies and cultivates individual donors
participating in events with the anticipated
goal of converting to annual donors or major
donors.
· Research sponsorship opportunities for special
events.
· Identify, cultivate and solicit major donors
and planned gifts with Executive Director.
· Builds relationships with Program Staff to
further promote Parenthesis fundraising
objectives and develops creative programming
with Program Staff and Board for cultivation of
new donors.
· Assists Executive Director by arranging
personal meetings, making follow-up phone calls
and preparing background materials and
information on major donors.
· Assists Executive Director in coordinating
tours of the facility for major donors.
· Keeps abreast of corporate activities, locally
and nationally by reviewing relevant
publications and resources.
· Maintain strong and regular contact with the
corporate community, including writing and
sending thank you and other forms of connection
and correspondence.
· Create, design and publish agency newsletters,
annual report, brochures and collateral
materials.
· Establish and maintain client demographic
reports for funding agencies.
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years previous
fundraising and special events management
experience required.
· Organizational and presentation skills and
attention to detail necessary to meet project
deadlines.
· Proficiency with personal computers and
related software, especially MS Word, Excel,
PowerPoint and Access.
· Ability to influence and relate to a variety
of constituencies to bring forth Parenthesis’
mission, vision and philanthropic needs.
· Excellent verbal and written communication
skills with demonstrated ability to articulate
complex ideas clearly and accurately.
· Ability to work on multiple projects
simultaneously, set priorities, and meet short
deadlines.
· Ability to work in fast- paced environment
with established time constraints.
